Reflections...............

I know an update has been long overdue. Anyway, its coming towards the end of another academic year at the BI and I have been doing some reflection.

I have enjoyed the privilege God has given me this year to witness what He is doing in the lives of about 70 guys in the dorm. I have enjoyed interacting and getting to know each one of them. There is so much I have learned from the whole experience and I know the LORD will help me use this experience I have gained for whatever task He has for me in future.

Looking at what God has done in the different lives of these young men I am reminded of what John said in 3 John 4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth". That just about describes how I feel.

It hasn't been all roses for there have been a few that have made wrong choices and my heart still goes out to them and it is still my prayer that the LORD in His own Sovereign way would work in their lives and make them to be what He wants them to be.

For the break I get to go home (Uganda) and see my family and friends. I am so excited and looking forward to that. And when I get back (God willing) I shall be at the Campground for the summer.

I hope to update before the break. But until then I wish you all well.

Houston.........

Since I am hard pressed with time, I shall refrain from making a long post. I shall just share some pictures I took in Houston during Spring break. It was great seeing friends I hadn't seen in almost 10 years! Anyway here are some pictures.....

The Safest Place Ever........

DSCN1285

So right now I am supposed to be part of a friend's wedding in Ohio. But here I am updating my Xanga. Call that irresponsible? I think you are judging me a little bit too fast.  Wait till I give you the whole story then you will know why I am not at the wedding.

I called him and let him know that I would not be able to make it and though disappointed, he acknowledged with me that it was not in God's plan for me to be there (given the circumstances). And as I sat at the airport yesterday having been informed about the cancelation of my flight due to the snow storm, I thought of the following verse in Proverbs 16:9 "The mind of  man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."

You know what? I am sad that I couldn't make it to the wedding but then I am glad that the LORD gets to direct my steps as He pleases (even though I may not know why). Right now I am at the BI in my house and will be heading to Texas on Tuesday (God willing) and you know what I am so much at peace knowing that the safest place I can ever be is where the LORD wants me to be. For now....... it is here at the BI.

Whats up?

DSCN1319 DSCN1315

Just thought should share some pictures of the aftermonths of the snow storms we have had

So whats been going on in my world?

1. Been enjoying my ministry with the gentlemen in Hungary dorm.

2. Finishing up my classes from last quater.

3. I have submitted my Masters application to Liberty and trusting God for finances and all that is needed for this.

4. Looking forward to the Spring break - going to Ohio for a friend's wedding and Texas after that for another wedding.

5. Been enjoying the abundance of snow this year - though sad that I couldn't get involved with Snow Camp.

To sum up all this I will quote one of my favourite Hymns (yes I do like hymns) - "Great Is Thy Faithfulness". God has been faithful to me in all and for that I am grateful.

Remembering A dear Friend

summer 1071

"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God." Rev 15:2

Today marks exactly one year since my beloved sister who was a very dear friend too, went to be with the LORD. Man, how I greatly miss her.  Thanks to all those who were of great support to me last year at this time - May God bless you all.

Just thought I should share an all too familiar passage that I read at Fredha's funeral. I hope all those dealing with the passing on of a loved one find comfort and encouragement in these words:

1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 18

13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
